Where does the statement "There is more that one way to skin a cat" come from? Did someone actually sit down once with a dozen or so cats to see how to best skin a cat. And, did he really find more than one?
I assume that the cat should be dead prior to beginning the skinning process. However, I was almost skinned alive by a cat once. I was politely and heroically helping down a cat that was perched atop the pointy top of an eight foot wood fence. About the time I lifted the feline from the fence, I found why she was there in the first place.
The dog ran around the corner barking and jumping upward from under my feet. The cat, now perched above my head on my outstretched hands, tried to find a more protected perch. Three bites and a dozen scratches later I decided it wise to end my attempts to protect the wild cat. The cat hit the ground running and basically flew up the nearest tree.
It was at that moment, dripping in blood and bewilderment, that I began contemplating how many ways I could skin that stupid, ungrateful cat!
